Tips to Extend Vase Life
Harvest Timing: Cut peonies when the buds are soft and marshmallow-like to the touch but before they fully open.
Conditioning:
Recut stems at a 45-degree angle underwater to prevent air bubbles.
Remove leaves that would sit below the waterline to prevent bacterial growth.
Water Care:
Use clean, lukewarm water and change it every two days.
Add floral preservative or a teaspoon of sugar and a few drops of bleach to the water.
Placement:
Keep peonies away from direct sunlight, heat, and drafts.
Cooler environments can significantly extend their lifespan.
By selecting the right varieties and following proper care techniques, you can enjoy peonies' beauty for 7–10 days or more in a vase.
